Accessibility Statement

At Stillwater Photo Charter, we are committed to ensuring that our services are accessible to everyone. We believe that the beauty of the Mid-Atlantic’s coastal landscapes and wildlife should be available to all, regardless of physical or cognitive ability.

1. Website Accessibility

We strive to make stillwaterphotocharter.com accessible to people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards, such as the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1.

  • Alt-Text: We aim to provide descriptive alt-text for all significant images of wildlife and landscapes.

  • Navigation: Our site is designed to be navigable via keyboard and compatible with most modern screen readers.

  • Contrast & Fonts: We prioritize high-contrast text and legible font sizes to assist those with visual impairments.

2. On-Board & Field Accessibility

Due to the specialized nature of our shallow-water vessels and the rugged terrain of the coastal marshes, we want to provide clear information so you can plan your trip effectively:

  • Mobility & Boarding: Our primary vessels are technical skiffs designed for performance in thin water. Boarding typically requires stepping from a dock down into the boat. While we do not currently have wheelchair-accessible ramps on board, our captains are highly experienced in assisting guests with limited mobility.

  • Visual & Hearing Accommodations: For guests with visual impairments, we can focus on the "eco-sounds" of the marsh—identifying bird calls and explaining the ecosystem's sensory details. For guests with hearing impairments, we can provide written itineraries or use visual signaling for wildlife sightings.

  • Service Animals: Due to the small deck space of our skiffs and the proximity to sensitive wildlife (which can be stressed by the presence of dogs), we ask that you contact us in advance if you plan to bring a service animal so we can discuss safety and space requirements.

3. Custom Accessible Charters

If you have specific accessibility needs—such as a preference for a more stable, wider-decked vessel or a specific dock location with easier ramp access—please reach out to us directly. We are often able to customize our departure points or partner with local marinas that offer enhanced ADA-compliant facilities.
